The Next Hangover

I just saw the trailer for Todd Philips' new movie Due Date. This is the guy who made The Hangover, and I have to say that this looks like happily familiar territory. And not only does it star Robert Downey Jr., yum, but Zach Galifianakis too, in largely the same character. Enjoy!

Stacey and Griffin

I love photographing my beautiful friend Stacey and her sweet son Griffin, although most of the pictures come out with a big grimace on his face! Ah, adolescence, just too cool for us dorky adults...

Parks and Rec

This summer I became a fan of Parks and Recreation. I love the cast, particularly Aziz Ansari. In a re-run this week, I laughed over one of my favorite quotes in recent memory, given by the stern office boss who's discussing his disapproval of charities: "Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Don't teach a man to fish, and eat yourself. He's a grown man. Fishing's not that hard."

Dave and Lori

My favorite thing about vacations in KC is sitting around the dining table with my brother and sister [il], drinking coffee and talking for three hours a day, and then wondering where to go for lunch. Seriously, why don't we all take more vacations like this??

Dave and Lori let me practice my photography with them, and I'm starting to feel a little more positive lately about the results of my practice, click HERE for the set. Of course, it helps to hang out with people that are as good looking, easy going and in love as these guys...

Love you D&L.

Stephanie and Noah

We had a little play date with Stephanie and her boy Noah last weekend! Noah was born within a week of Ada and Logan, so it's always fun to compare notes on the kiddos...

End of an Era

At The Movies has always been one of my favorite shows... and has always been my way to stay in touch with what's worth seeing. My dad and I watched it together, half my life ago. After 35 years, they are taking it off the air. It surprises me that a show with hardly any apparent costs that was aired in the middle of the night is too expensive to bother with, but so be it. Bye, old friend.

Simple Pleasures

It's been a surprisingly busy summer. I've been having fun with Ada and Logan most of the time, and when I'm "off," I've been occupied with a lot of administrative stuff, trying to start two businesses, seeing all my friends and family, and a bunch of little projects. My project for this week is the Mothers of Multiples sale coming up Saturday, and I've spent the last 48 hours sorting through a bunch of clothes, cleaning them, entering them online, tagging them and bagging them for hanging. Geez! It's a good learning experience, hopefully I'll make a couple bucks, and get into the sale early. While I worked, I listened to Twilight, New Moon, Tootsie, Parenthood, fractions of a few others, a few sitcoms, and The Box, which is very weird and I don't recommend unless you have A LOT of spare time.

I don't usually write about this stuff, but I know I would want someone to tell me that I've discovered the ultimate stain remover! A little bottle of Shout Advanced worked magic on baby clothes that have been sitting in the garage for ages. I am a devoted fan.

Also, I have lots of reading homework to do and haven't quite finished that Free book yet, but predictably, when I stumble across some fun candy-bar reading, I can't resist. I've started Under the Dome, Stephen King's latest, and I love it! It seems that he will never be respected as, uh, intellectually challenging, but I look forward to my time with his books just the same. Crazy concept on this one too.

Speaking of the simple pleasures, I just saw an episode of this new reality show on Bravo called Work of Art, and I love it! It's just like Project Runway with artists, they all seem a little nuts, but have some skill that's really interesting to watch. The one episode that I managed to finish had a winner that gave me the quizzical eyebrows. But still, I'm hooked.

Working With Artists

I took a class recently with Working With Artists, on combining natural and studio light in portraiture. Here are a couple pics I took. The Denver skate park is incidentally a pretty interesting place to spend an evening.
