Fall Movie Preview

I probably always say this...  But I can't WAIT for the fall movie season!  Check out this page on IMDB to browse.  I wrote down my list of favs - this doesn't include stuff that should be great, but isn't my taste - and came up with 20 movies.

The two that I'm looking forward to most are:

Life of Pi.  One of my favorite books, filmed by one of my favorite directors, Ang Lee.  You must watch the trailer, I was practically bawling by the end of it.

This is 40.  A spin-off of Knocked Up, with Paul Rudd, directed by Judd Apatow.  I think the trailer is adorable.

The rest:

  • The Words – Bradley Cooper, plagiarism drama.
  • The Master – New flick by Paul Thomas Anderson, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix.
  • 10 Years – Reunion comedy with Tatum Channing.
  • End of Watch – Cop drama with Jake Gyllenhaal.
  • Looper – Time travel action with Joseph Gordon Levitt.
  • Cloud Atlas – Insane special effects by the Wachowski brothers.
  • Espionage – Financial drama/thriller with Richard Gere.
  • Flight – Denzel Washington plays a pilot in an emergency crash.
  • Lincoln – Steven Spielberg, Daniel Day Lewis, AND my new boyfriend Joseph Gordon Levitt.
  • Skyfall – James Bond.
  • Twilight - *shrug* It’s stupid, but fun.
  • Anna Karenina – Screenplay by the same guy that did Shakespeare in Love, which was another literary movie I loved.  I just read this book though, and it’s not very good.
  • Hyde Park on Hudson – Bill Murray as FDR.
  • The Hobbitt – Peter Jackson.
  • Les Miserables – in spite of the fact it has Anne Hathaway, who is just not really my thing.
  • Jack Reacher – Tom Cruise action, based on good books.  Initial trailer looks dumb, hope there’s more to it.
  • Django Unchained – Quentin Tarantino’s new one, starring Jamie Foxx.  Looks cool.
  • The Guilt Trip – Road trip comedy with Seth Rogen and his “mom” Barbara Streisand.
