Parade of Homes

Last Friday night I went to see Denver's Parade of Homes. The five houses at the far southeast corner of town ranged in market price from $1.8 - 2.8 million. They were beautiful, of course, and I noticed lots of great details that don't have to be on such a pricey property.

I think the best thing I saw was the sitting rooms that seemed to be off every master bedroom of the tour. I love this idea, not only because I'm a reader, and Dave bemoans the light "poking his eyes out" every night, but because it just seems like such an elegant design! I also loved seeing all the outdoor patios, and the creative designs in placing them. There were several houses that had patios integrated into the main living spaces in ways I've never seen before.

Of course, it helps to be building your own home, since it's kind of tricky to add a sitting room to your master bedroom when the house is already done. But even details like paint colors and furniture were interesting! On the flip side, I was overexposed to a big chunk of the general public. Yech.
