Today was a much anticipated day of doing nothing. After a nice breakfast at Las Delicias, we got a call from our friends Chad and Stacey that they had extra tickets to the Rockies baseball game. We agreed to meet them outside the stadium at one, and headed down to what turned out to be an amazing game. I've never been to a baseball game where anyone actually cared much about the game, but this was different. Today's game was all or nothing to make it to the play-offs, so the crowd was intensely following the game, on their feet, screaming and chanting. It was truly why people love sports. We were all high fiving and cheering amongst thousands of fans, and how can you not feel grateful just to be alive?
This photo looks weird with no people, but it's a view of the field from the section we were in... So just imagine it with someone in every seat.
Oh yeah, an interesting trivia tidbit I was reminded of -- there's a row of purple seats around the upper level of the stadium; apparently this row is at precisely 5280 feet of elevation. And incidentally, we all sang God Bless America, and there were some extra hoots during "from the mountains." Denver really is a pretty easy place to love.
